Getting a Library Card

Getting a Library Card for Lillie Russell Memorial Library is easy and INEXPENSIVE!  All you need to do is to come to the Library in person to apply pay your membership fee.  You don't need to be a resident of Smith County, but must be at least 16 years old and bring with you some sort of identification, like a driver’s license or state ID.  If you are younger than 16, your parent must be present with you to submit the application and bring identification.

Although your library card is $5 for an individual membership and $15 for a family of three or more, if lost it will cost you a $10.00 fee for a replacement card. 

The card holder MUST have their card issued and present to check out any items.

Cards for the Lillie Russell Memorial Library are usually issued individually.  However, you have the option to apply for a Family Card.

It is important that you do not lend your card to anyone. Keep your card in a safe place and take the time to monitor your account regularly. To report lost/stolen cards immediately so no one else can use your card. You remain responsible for any activity prior to your report. We reserve the right to ask for identification to verify a cardholder is using the proper account.
